John Stankus, 86, of Bentleyville, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born December 6, 1923 in Ellsworth, a son of Adolph and Josephine Gutzka Stankus.
He attended Bentleyville High School.
Mr. Stankus was a glassworker for Corning Glass, Charleroi and retired in 1988.
He enjoyed county fairs, festivals, craft shows and living life in general.
He was the last of his immediate family and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three sisters, Alma Collins, Velma Woolley and infant Caroline (Karla) Stankus and two brothers, Jerry (Miroslov) Stankus and Bohous Stankus.
Friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 4, with Rev. Andy Scott, officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery
