Joseph Forte Obituary

Joseph Mark Forte, 83, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Washington Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born August 5, 1929 in Ellsworth, a son of Angelo and Anna Forte.

He was a 1947 graduate of the Ellsworth High School.

A veteran, Mr. Forte served with the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant from 1947 to 1950.

Mr. Forte retired from Bethlehem Mines, where he worked as an electrician in the Wilson Shop.

He was a member of the Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville and the parish choir.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5826 and the American Legion Post 165, both of Bentleyville and the United Mine Workers of America, Local 1197.

His wife, Dorothy J. Grahman Forte, survives. They were married February 19, 1949 at the Scott Air Force base in Illinois.

Also surviving are two children, Thomas Forte (Tammy) of Orlando, Florida and Jane Guaetta (Chad) of Hummelstown; nine grandchildren; Beth, Jessica, Lyndsay, Allegra, Nicole, Michaela, Joseph, Max and Cameron; a great-grandson, Owen; a sister, Theresa Condrich of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Jane Forte of New Canaan, Conn. and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Michael J. Forte; three brothers, Joe, who died in infancy, Peter A. and Dan Forte; four sisters, Deminica “May” Cario, Vincenza "Vinnie" Forte, Jennie V. Denicola and Mary Cacio.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013 followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Luke Cemetery of Ave Maria Parish with military rites by American Legion Post 165. The Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
