Joseph Norman Kendra, 81, of Monongahela, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Washington Hospital.
He was born March 24, 1941 in Bentleyville, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Sable Kendra.
Mr. Kendra was a graduate of Bentleyville High School. He attended the Washington School of Drafting and later Penn Commercial in Washington.
A veteran, he served from 1959 to 1963 with the U.S. Navy.
For 28 years, Mr. Kendra was employed as a draftsman with Cooper in Canonsburg.
He was a member of the Saint Katharine Drexel Parish.
He enjoyed trap shooting at the Roscoe Gun Club.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Lowe Kendra; sons, Daniel Joseph Kendra (Laura Chevalier) of Beaver Falls and Douglas Edward Kendra of Monongahela; grandsons, Ari Leo Kendra and Caleb Joseph Kendra; godchild, Lindsey Macey; a special dog, Riley; brother, John “Jack” Kendra (Alice) of Charleroi, and a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Cursi of Washington, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 7 followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Katharine Drexel, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, Pastor, as celebrant.
A procession will follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery for the Rite of Committal service and military honors by the American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville, and the U.S. Navy.
