Julia Rose Woessner, age 96, of Bentleyville, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, December 31, 2023 in her family home.
Born on February 3, 1927 in Sample, PA, Julia was the daughter of Jessie Frances Dorrier and Andrew Dorrier, and the youngest of seven children. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Early in life, she worked at Rhea’s Bakery and later at the B&O Railroad in ticket sales. She served her country during WWII working in a munitions factory with her older sister Peggy.
Beloved wife of the late Wilbur J. Woessner since 1960; loving mother of Raymond Woessner (Mary), Susan Ellis (Jim), and Robert Woessner; grandmother of Alanna Ellis (Alex Turner), Rachel Woessner, and Christopher Woessner.
Julia lives on in the hearts, minds, and memories of the family who loved her so dearly.
Julia was committed to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren on the family farm. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and caring for her wide array of pets and farm animals. Julia was a leader with the local Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops for many years.
As a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bentleyville, she was active in dinners and social functions.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 2 at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2024, with the Pastor Andy Scott, officiating.
Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
