Elegant K-9 Leonidas is pictured standing on the overlook going up the Uniontown Summit mountain. He used to run 3-miles up this mountain with his partner Mike Garrow, Sr. for exercise.
Garrow, a police officer, purchased Leo in January of 2008 to replace K-9 Sheiko, who was near retirement. Leo was his fourth and last police work dog. The pair worked together from July of 2008 to May of 2016.
Leo saved his partner’s life while during a very violent call when an armed robber pulled out a gun and was ready to shoot. Leo hit the perp in the chest, knocking him to the ground, and knocking the stolen and cocked .357 Colt Python out of his hand.
Leo developed Wobblers Syndrome and retired with Garrow in May of 2016. The decease got worse causing Garrow to put him to rest on March 18, 2019.
Garrow who wrote memorial songs for all four of his police dogs, wrote this song to honor his beloved partner.

How do I say thank You... for saving my life?
How do I say thank You ... for protecting me all those nights?
How do I say thank You... for Your friendship n loyalty?
How do I say thank You... for the peace You brought to me?
I hope You understand as I look into Your eyes.
I hope You understand... why it’s time say goodbye.
I wish I knew for certain... if we’ll ever meet again.
Cause I will miss You dearly...,my true Partner n my Friend
