Karl K. Kirschner, 82, of Eighty Four, Somerset Township, passed away Sunday morning, October 3, 2021 at the Washington Hospital.
He was born October 1, 1939 in Monongahela, a son of Samuel J. Kirschner and Ruth Icephine Cowan Kirschner.
Mr. Kirschner was a graduate of the Monongahela High School. He attended UCLA and later received his Bachelor’s degree in environmental science from California University of Pennsylvania.
He was a biology teacher at Bethel Park High School, where he coached track and field, rifle and cross country and was inducted into the high school’s Hall of Fame for outstanding performances.
Mr. Kirschner was an elder and a minister at the Church of Jesus Christ in Monongahela.
He was also a member of the Republican National Party and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by a sister Charlotte Olexa and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Beatrice Warrick, and brothers S. Raymond, L. Vernon, Paul J., Norman D., William M., and James C. Kirschner.
Judith Anne Barney Kirschner, 77, of Eighty Four, Somerset Township, passed away Friday morning, October 8, 2021 at the Donnell House, Washington.
She was born October 29, 1943 in Washington, a daughter of Charles Randall Barney and Helen Irene McBride Barney.
Mrs. Kirschner graduated from Washington High School and attended Erie Business College.
She was a member of the Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Kirschner enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone, letter writing, and making all-occasion cards.
She is survived by a sister Randa Lee Tunney (Dennis) and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her sisters, Minnie Bell Turner and Sue Carolyn Cage and an infant brother.
Karl and Judy are survived by their two daughters, Jodie Dickman (Jonah) and Tammy Pollard (Mike); Gary Hollier (Barb), who they raised; a grandson, Sean Hollier (Jessica); and great-grandchildren, Austin and Colt Hollier.
Masks are required in the funeral home and church.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255).
Additional visitation will be from 10 to 10:50 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, 45 Church Road, Eighty Four, where their funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Dykstra, pastor of Pigeon Creek Presbyterian, and elders of the Church of Jesus Christ Jonathan Nath and Joshua Nicklow, co-officiating.
Interment will follow in Pigeon Creek Cemetery.
