Lance Richard Kusman, 65, of California, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at his home of natural causes.
He was born December 13, 1945 in Charleroi, a son of the late Pauline Sadosky Kusman Robson.
Mr. Kusman was a graduate of the California High School.
He once worked as a shift maintenance foreman for the former BethEnergy Mines, mine 60 in Somerset Township.
A veteran, he served during Vietnam with the U.S. Navy on the USS Intrepid (CVS 11) as a Radarman Petty Office 2nd class. He received the National Defense Metal and Vietnam Service Medal with four campaign stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Surviving are several cousins, including Patty Leach of Coal Center; two step-brothers, John M. Robson (Vickie) of Washington and Robert A. Robson of Markleysburg.
Deceased are his wife, Sophia Panich Kusman, who died in 1996 and step-father, John D. Robson.
