Lewis Collins, 85, of Charleroi, passed away Thursday morning, January 16, 2025 at Genesis Bridgeville Rehabilitation and Care Center.
He was born April 24, 1939 in Wendel, Westmoreland County, a son of the late Matthew Collins and Margaret Tokosh Collins.
He attended the Ellsworth Schools and Saint Katharine Drexel Parish.
For 40 years, Lewis worked for the Bethlehem Mines at mine 60.
He loved hunting and the outdoors, old cars, lifting weights, watching boxing on television, and especially, football.
Surviving are his sons, Lewis R. Collins (Debbie) of Carroll Township, David Collins of Washington, John Collins of McDonald, Joe Collins of Scenery Hill, Earl Collins (Marylou) of Washington, and Mark Collins (Ashley) of Moon Township; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; siblings, Marie Selvoski-Prepski of Scenery Hill, Matthew Collins of Fallowfield Township, and Frances Martos (Ronald); and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his wife Donna Marie Metzler Collins, and a son, Gary Collins, and grandson Joshua Collins.
Friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, where a prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, with the Reverend Michael A. Zavage, as celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Luke Cemetery, Bentleyville for the Rite of Committal.
