Lewis Radomile, Sr. Obituary

Lewis Radomile, Sr., 88, of Van Voorhis, died Wednesday morning, September 19, 2012 at Justine’s Personal Care Home, Allenport.

He was born January 17, 1924 in Cokeburg, a son of the late Camillo and Margaret Menego Radomile.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Radomile served with the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946.

After 41 years of service, he retired from Bethlehem Mines and worked at mine 60 in Somerset Township.

He was a member of Ave Maria Parish, where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5826 in Bentleyville, Otters Club in Van Voorhis and a lifetime member of the NRA.

He was a devoted husband for 65 years to Della Ciappa Radomile, who survives. They were married April 26, 1947.

Also surviving are three children, Nancy Radomile of Van Voorhis, Michael Radomile (Deborah) of Erie and Thomas Radomile (Lisa) of Charleroi; 10 grandchildren; Camille, Kate, Natalie, Lewis III, David, Christopher, Melissa, Ethan, Caleb and Denver; five great-grandchildren, Zoey, Riley, Madyson, Abigail, Michael and Emalee; daughter-in-law, Jeannie L. Radomile of Van Voorhis and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two sons, Lewis A. Radomile, Jr. and infant Tom and two sisters, Tisha DiGrazia and Josephine Samarra.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, September 15 followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville with the Rev. Edward L. Yuhas, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Washington County Food Bank, 1020 Route 519, Eighty Four, PA 15330 or the Washington City Mission, 84 W. Wheeling St., Washington, PA 15301.
