Marie Robison Obituary

Marie Rose Miller Robison, 89, of Coal Center, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Donnell House, Washington; surrounded by her children singing "Moment by Momenta€?, a song she had written many years ago. She was the beloved wife of the late Clyde S. Robison, who affectionately referred to her as his "Rosiea€?.

She graduated from Charleroi High School and received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from California State Teacher's College, now known as California University of Pennsylvania.

Grace United Methodist Church, Coal Center, was a very important part of her life as she taught Sunday school and was active with the Women's Society and a wonderful small worship group.

She was also a founding member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Council meetings in Washington County, and attended the former Fallowfield Township Grange.

Marie spent her life on the farm devoted to her husband, her large family, and caring for others, including cooking and serving meals around her kitchen table for many young boys who grew up working at Robison Dairy Farm.

She was and excellent cook and pie baker and provided her famous carmel walnut pies for many fund raisers. She helped to start the original Springhouse bakery where she baked all of the pies. Her recipes are still in use today.

She was an excellent seamstress, played the piano and wrote beautiful poems and songs.

On November 13, 1939, she married her high school sweetheart, Clyde Scott Robison, who died May 16, 1992. She died on what would have been his 90th birthday. Her large family believes she shared birthday cake with him.

Surviving are her three children, Beverly Minor (Samuel) of Eighty Four, Connie Lusk (Robert) of Charleroi and Robert Clyde Robison (Peggy) of Coal Center; 11 grandchildren, Marcia Opp (Donald), Tee Kelly (John), Jill Miles (Kelly), Jody Engelhardt (Eric), Samuel Robison Minor (Marsha), Lisa Hutchin (Donald), Michelle Wollenberg (Jay), Michael Lusk (Heather), Julie Smith (Steven), Jason Robison (Karen) and Jennifer Kuhlmann (Jason); 37 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Gladys Carson of Coal Center; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and her dog, and faithful companion, Tandy.
