Mary E. Jester

Mary E. Rulong Jester, 92, of Bentleyville, died Friday, July 8, 2011 in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.

She was born May 18, 1919 in Charleroi, a daughter of the late Cecil "Red" and Helen Ritzer Rulong.

She was a graduate of the CaliforniaHigh School.

She was a member of Ave Maria Parish and a lifetime member and past president of the American Legion Post 165 Auxiliary, Bentleyville.

Mrs. Jester was a member of the Bentworth Senior Citizens, where she drove the center's van and delivered Meals on Wheels and was a past president of the Bentworth PTA.

She was also a member and volunteer with the Monongahela Valley Hospital Auxiliary. She loved gardening and helping others, especially volunteer organizations.

On June 26, 1937, she married Clifford Jester, who died September 21, 1989.

Surviving are five children, Barry C. Jester (Anna Louise) of N. Charleroi, Elsie Jester of Bentleyville, Harry R. Jester (Alice) of Moon Township, Lois Johnson (Van) of New Egypt, New Jersey, DiAnn Ray (Robert) of Pocomoke City, Maryland; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Donnie Downes of Roscoe and a daughter-in-law, Takaka Jester of Sunbury.

Deceased are a son, Bernard W. Jester; two brothers, Harry and Bernard Rulong and two sisters, Dorothy Federer and Ann Puskarich.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2011 followed at Noon by Mass of Christian Burial at Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville with the Rev.
