Mary Catherine Sadosky Kusman, 79, of West Pike Run Township, Coal Center, died Monday, March 24, 2008 in her home after battling pancreatic cancer. She died peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born December 22, 1928 in West Pike Run Twp., a daughter of Alex and Wilda G. Cupp Sadosky.
She attended California High School.
Mary spent much of her time crocheting afghans which she donated to Magee Women's Pre-Natal Intensive Care Unit in Pittsburgh and to nursing homes.
She could be seen in the spring, summer and fall riding on her lawn tractor, cutting grass.
Mary contributed monetarily to the native American organizations and animal wildlife organizations.
On May 13, 1950, she married George Kusman, who died September 9, 1992.
Together they had one daughter, Patricia Leach of Coal Center and a son, Gregory Allen Kusman (wife Linda) of Daisytown.
Mary also leaves behind four grandchildren and their spouses, Abby Leach Thompson (Russell, Jr.), Beth Leach Pinardi (David), Clayton Kusman (Donna) and Jenny Kusman; a sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Frank Angotti, Sr. of Coal Center and several nieces and nephews.
Mary leaves this world to meet with her mother, husband and sister, Pauline Robson and brother, William Sadosky.
Private services will be held at the family's convenience. Interment in Maple Creek Cemetery, Fallowfield Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Albert Gallatin Home Care and Hospice, 20 Highland Drive, Suite 302, Uniontown, PA 15401.
