Mary E. Stimmell

Mary E. Glatfelter Stimmell, 95, of Bentleyville, died Monday, May 26, 2008, in Bentleyville Personal Care Home.

She was born April 19, 1913, in West Pike Run Township, a daughter of Thomas and Lydia Waller Glatfelter.

Mrs. Stimmell was a member of Bentworth Senior Citizens, Bentleyville.

On August 11, 1933, she married Jesse Walter Stimmell, who died January 9, 1984.

Surviving are three children, Jesse W. Stimmell (wife Dorothy) of Ohio, Aaron E. Stimmell (wife Joyce) of Washington and Violet Chmura (the late Leon) of Ellsworth; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Chmura, Thomas Chmura, Mary Conn (husband David), Aaron Stimmell Jr., Christopher Stimmell (wife Kristen) and Leslie Briggs (husband Earl); six great-grandchildren, Rachel and Haley Chmura, Joshua and Aidan Conn and Madison and Meredyth Stimmell; a sister, Viola Reece of Belle Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a brother, William Glatfelter; sisters Margaret Homme, Flora Turner and infant Myrtle; and two grandsons, John Chmura and an infant son of Violet Chmura.

There will be no visitation or services. Private burial will take place in Scenery Hill Cemetery.
