Maryann "Mare" Rosensteel Clair Pochiba, 68, of Deemston Borough, Fredericktown, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at her home.
She was born December 20, 1938 in Monongahela, a daughter of the late Clayton Elmer Rosensteel and Anna Catherine Wilson Rosensteel Terhorst.
She attended the Sampson Star School in Valley Inn, Wylie Elementary and was a graduate of Monongahela High School.
She once worked as a home health aide.
Mrs. Pochiba was a member of the Christian Assembly of God in Bentleyville, where she served as the Sunday school secretary.
She was a member of Beth-Center Senior Center, where she enjoyed the oil painting and ceramics classes.
On November 19, 1971 at Winchester, Virginia, she married John Steven Pochiba, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Pamela Lee Hayden (Tim) of Ingalls, Indiana, Loryann Clair (Shane) of Grantsville, Utah and Peggy Jolly (Shawn) of Scenery Hill; a step-son, Frederick Meade Pochiba of Fredericktown; a step-daughter, Lisa Ann Marry of Washington; 11 grandchildren, Timothy C. Hayden (Holly), Natasha M. Turner (Billy), Travis Lee Clair, Antoinette Hayden, John C. Hayden, Darren Jolly, Dillon Jolly, Shana Barney, Stephanie E. Pochiba, Landon Barney and Marque Marry; three great-grandchildren, Clayton and Gage Turner and Olivia Hayden.
Deceased are a step-daughter, Carla J. Pochiba and her first husband, James W. Clair.
Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255) and from 1 to 2 p.m., the hour of service on Sunday, November 25 at the Christian Assembly of God, 100 Meadow Drive, Bentleyville with the Rev. Dr. Michael T. Goodling, officiating. Interment will follow in Buckingham Cemetery, Deemston Borough. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Assembly of God.
