Merle W. Patterson

Merle W. Patterson, 98, of Eighty Four, died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Town View Health and Rehabilitation, Canonsburg.

He was born October 6, 1914 in Eighty Four, a son of Walter Speer and Annie Elizabeth Hamilton Patterson.

Mr. Patterson enjoyed being a self-employed farmer all of his life and attended auctions and sales.

For several years, he drove school bus for the Canon McMillian School District.

He attended Memory Chapel in Vanceville.

His wife, Margaret L. Sumney Patterson, died April 25, 1994. They were married on December 2, 1948 in Oakland, Maryland.

He was the last of his immediate family.

Deceased is a sister, Edith Hamilton.

Friends are welcome from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, October 18, the hour of a prayer service, at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255. Private interment will follow in Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, Eighty Four.
