Mike Herilla Obituary
Mike "Mitch" Herilla, 92, of Bentleyville, died Monday morning, April 29, 2013 at Betty White’s Personal Care Home, Centerville borough.
He was born in North Charleroi, a son of Theodore and Tekla Husoveck Herilla.
Mr. Herilla retired from Fisher Body in West Mifflin after 27 years of service.
A veteran, he served his country during World War II as a Private with the 871st Guard Squadron of the 8th Army Air Force of the Army Air Corps.
He was a member of American Legion Post 165 of Bentleyville, where he served as commander of the honor guard and the post.
His wife, Ann Wuycheck Herilla, died July 1, 2008. They were married February 23, 1946 in St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Monongahela.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Smiley (Gregg) and Nadine Connor, all of Bentleyville; three grandchildren, Tara Marie Herilla, Timi Lynn Close (Harry) and Stephen Connor (fiancé Alina George); three great-grandchildren, Noah Close, Izabella and Morgan Connor; a sister, Eva A. Kuchar of Bentleyville; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Herilla of Bentleyville and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sons, Tim Herilla and John Eric (Ricky) Herilla; three brothers, Alex, Theodore, Jr. and John Herilla and three sisters, Ann Denys, Mary Fefolt and Olga Swoger.
