Mildred I. Haywood Forte, 91, of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the Donnell House, Washington.
She was born October 24, 1919 in California, a daughter of Robert Emmett Haywood, Sr. and Katherine Dunseath Haywood.
A homemaker, she attended Ave Maria Parish and was a member of the Ave Maria Parish Women's Guild.
On October 18, 1941, she married Carmine F. Forte, Sr., who died January 7, 1986.
Surviving are her son, Carmine F. "Sonny" Forte, Jr. (Sandra) of Bentleyville; daughters, Nadine Finn (Joseph) of Mt. Joy and Lois Bertocci of Bentleyville; seven grandchildren, Michael and Michele Forte, David Lambert, Danielle Lambert Rusnak, Jaclyn, Carla and Ted Bertocci; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Also deceased are her daughter, Betty Lambert; brothers, Emmett, Charles, William, Clifford and Joseph Haywood and sisters, Betty T. Jones, Katherine Brewer, Martha Venturini and Betty Hawk.
Friends are welcome from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011 followed at 10 a.m. by Mass of Christian Burial at Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville, with the Rev. Gary W. Krummert, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela. The Ave Maria Parish Women's Guild will pray the rosary at 6 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Donnell House c/o Hospice Care of The Washington Hosptial, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
