Mildred Ann “Midge” Satina, 96, of Bentleyville, Somerset Township, passed away on March 18, 2023 at home.
Midge was born on August 24, 1926, to John and Anna D’Vorchak Kotulak of Ellsworth.
She graduated from Ellsworth High School, and her employment included many years with the Bentleyville Foodland.
She was active with her church, Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, where she was a pierogi maker.
She was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, St. George Lodge in Cokeburg, for whom she served as an officer for many years, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Dolores 1675.
Midge was a hard worker with a sharp wit and was well-known for her skills at baking cookies. She enjoyed polka music and loved to dance.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Midge was the beloved wife of Donald Matthew (Don) Satina, who died in 2000.
She was the loving mother of two sons, Donald Mark (Don) Satina and his wife Susan, and David Satina and his wife Elizabeth, and proud grandmother of four, Eric (Nicole), Dylan, Abigail and Riley.
In addition to her husband Don and parents, Midge was predeceased by her stepmother Ruth Korfant; sister Alberta Kotulak; brother Richard Kotulak, and infant sister Cecilia Kotulak.
Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2023, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Katharine Drexel, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville.
A procession will follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela for the Rite of Committal service.
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will pray the Rosary at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
