Paul Dormo, 89, of Bentleyville, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at his home.
He was born January 1, 1920 in Maxwell, a son of Peter and Laura Barnaba Dormo
He was a 1940 graduate of the Bentleyville High School.
A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 7th Armored Division of the 3rd Army in the European Theater.
Mr. Dormo retired as a manager for the A & P.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Post 165 both of Bentleyville.
On June 12, 1987 in Bentleyville, he married Jean Hamilton Trew, who survives.
Also surviving are two step-sons, Dean Trew (Jenn) of Bentleyville and Gregg Trew (Tracey) of Canonsburg; six grandchildren, Michael, Bryan, Jason, Evan, Emily and Leah; a sister, Yolonda Krause of Hazel Park, Mich. and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his first wife, Charlene Biscoe Dormo; his second wife, Viola Jean Frye Dormo; four brothers, Cosmo P. "Chick", Charles, Roland, and Angelo Dormo and two sisters, Nellie Keturakis, Mary Zilka and Genevieve McGinn.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009 with the Rev. Andy Scott, officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 165. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 812 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314. For those unable to attend, condolences can be sent at www.thompson-marodi.com.
