Pearl Battistone Gibson, 89, of Bentleyville, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at West Malden Manor, California.
She was born June 29, 1920 in Ellsworth, a daughter of Nick and Filomena Battistone.
She attended the Bentleyville High School and was a graduate of Fuester's Beauty School, Charleroi.
For 50 years, she was the owner and operator of Pearl's Beauty Shop in Bentleyville.
She attended the Central Assembly of God in Houston.
On April 3, 1948 in Bentleyville, she married James T. Gibson, who died September 2, 2008. They were avid stock car racing fans and attended races every summer on Friday nights.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Vickie Gibson of Bentleyville; a granddaughter, Jillian Lauder and her husband Les of Inwood, West Virg.; a great-grandson, Mason James Lauder; three nieces, Ronna Voelker, Marsha Gibson and Darlene Loar.
Deceased are a sister, Mary Zumpetta and a brother, Arthur Battistone.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2009 with Pastor Donald O'Hare, officiating.
