Raymon Eland, 77, of Gibson, Bentleyville, died Monday, August 31, 2009, at Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born May 16, 1932 in New Eagle, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Lillico Eland.
A veteran, he served with the U.S. Army in Korea from 1949 to 1952.
He retired Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport mill, where he worked as an electrician.
On November 2, 1952, he married Dolores Mae Geho, who died September 20, 1987.
Surviving are four children, Joseph R. Eland (Cheryl) of Canonsburg, Cheryl Vernet (Rudolph) of Monessen, Glen D. Eland of Gibson and Roy R. Eland (Terri) of Lucinda; six grandchildren, Christine, Brittany, Jessica, Ashley, Alyson and Jeremy; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Joe, Aiden and Avery.
Mr. Eland was the last of his immediate family.
Also deceased is a brother, Norman Ray Eland.
Friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where a military service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2009 with American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville.
