Richard G. Morosky

Richard G. "Reggie" Morosky, 91, of Marianna, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Washington County Health Center.

He was born November 27, 1918 in Vestaburg, a son of John and Dorothy Peterson Morosky.

He attended the Marianna Borough School.

A veteran, he served with the U.S. Army during World War in the Philippines and Hawaii as an anti-aircraft gunner.

For 39 years, Mr. Morosky worked for the former BethEnergy Mines at mine 58 in Marianna and retired in 1992. He was a member of the UMWA Local 2874 in Marianna.

He was a former member of the St. Nicholas Old Believers Russian Orthodox Church and Steele-Lillie American Legion Post 744, both of Marianna.

He pride and joy was his garden and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On February 10, 1947 in Marianna, he married Frances Mickoloff, who died June 30, 1992.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Madeleine Roule Smalley (Stanley) of Marianna and several niece and nephews.

He was the last of his immediate family.

Deceased are two brothers and four sisters.
