Robert V. Bosnyak

Robert V. Bosnyak, 82, of Eighty Four, died Monday, July 26, 2010 in his home.

He was born March 29, 1928 in Duquesne, a son of Vincent and Anna Fedor Bosnyak.

He was a graduate of Duquesne High School. After graduating, he attended Penn Technical Institute in Pittsburgh for television repair and was a self-employed repairman.

Mr. Bosnyak later worked for U.S. Steel in McKeesport for 10 years. He then worked for Continental Can Company in West Mifflin as an inspector and retired after 23 years.

A veteran, he served from March 1946 to September 1947 at a private for the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville.

On January 28, 1959 in Pittsburgh, he married Shirley Jane Martin, who survives.

Also surviving are four children, Michael T. Bosnyak of Florida, Janet Stevenson of Charleroi, Virginia Shamitko of Meadowlands and Robert M. Bosnyak of Marianna; six grandchildren, Michael, Michele and Robert Bosnyak, Robert Stevenson, JoMarie Stevenson Giorgi and Logan Bosnyak; five great-grandchildren, Maria Lynn and Anthony O. Giorgi, Noah, Ariel and Nollie Bosnyak; a sister, Helen J. Wahly of Duquesne and two nieces.

Deceased is nephew, Julian Wahly.

Friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, (724-239-2255), where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010 with the Rev. Gary W. Krummert, officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela with graveside military rites by the American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville.
