Rose Marie Magera Wilkinson, 79, of Brandywine, Maryland, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015.
She was born March 10, 1935 in Horning, a daughter of Walter and Anna Velky Magera.
Mrs. Wilkinson was a graduate of the Ellsworth High School and attended business school in Pittsburgh.
She worked as a deputy sheriff for Prince George’s County (Maryland) Sheriff’s Department and was the first female sergeant of the department.
Surviving are two daughters, Antoinette Blair (Gregory) of Waldorf, Maryland and Theresa Moore (Jim) of Brandywine; three grandchildren, Nicole and David Manni and Austin Blair; two great-grandchildren, Bryana Coates and Mason Blair; two sisters, Ruth DiNardo of Bentleyville and Lillian Ross (Joe) of Ellsworth; a brother, Leonard Magera (Linda) of Scenery Hill and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Charles (Eddie) Wilkinson; two sons, Richard P. Coates and Bryan J. Coates and a brother, Tom (Tucker) Magera.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 13 with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, pastor of Ave Maria Parish, officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela. The Ave Maria Parish Women’s Guild will pray the Rosary at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a local hospice organization.
