Sharon R. Peterson Stazetski, 77, of Bentleyville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 18, 2022, in her home.
She was born March 7, 1945, and raised in Canonsburg, a daughter of Harry and Stephanie Zydanowicz Peterson.
Mrs. Stazetski attended Robert Morris College and went on to become the secretary of Canonsburg Borough. Later, she was the secretary for the Dean of Provost at the California University of Pennsylvania.
She was a magnificent self-taught artist, and was content with her flowers and enjoying the backyard with her family and dog Nikki.
She was a phenomenal cook and it wasn't Easter or Christmas without Mum's favorite divine nut rolls.
A devout Catholic, Mrs. Stazetski was a member of Saint Katharine Drexel Parish.
She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
It was in Canonsburg where she met her husband, Paul Stazetski. He passed away July 8, 2021 and they were married for 55 years.
Surviving are her children, Gregg Paul Stazetski (Heidi) of Charleroi; a daughter Susan Marie Stazetski of White Plains, Maryland.
She was the best grandma (aka, "Gma") in the world and was proud of both of her grandchildren, Gavin Stazetski and Myles Scott.
She is also survived by her siblings, Larry Peterson and Barbara Peterson McKay (Robert), all of Canonsburg and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2022, with Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, officiating.
A procession will follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery for the Rite of Committal service.
