Stanley "Sonny" Prokell

Stanley N. "Sonny" Prokell, 58, of Daisytown, Clover Hill, died Monday, June 18, 2007 at his home.

He was born December 8, 1948 in North Charleroi, a son of Nellie A. Chupasko Prokell of Haymarket, Virginia and the late Stanley G. Prokell.

He was a 1966 graduate of California High School.

Sonny worked for the former Fox Grocery before serving with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

After his discharge from the Army, he worked for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen.

He was a member of the Corvette Club of America.

Surviving in addition to his mother are a son, David Daniel Prokell of Chandler, Arizona; two sisters, Cynthia Glade of Haymarket, Virginia and Marie Batchelor of Alexandria, Virginia; a niece, Heather Huynh; an aunt; an uncle and several cousins.

Deceased is a step-brother, Ronald G. Prokell.

Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007. Interment will follow in Charleroi Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville.
