Stella Andrachick

Stella Evanosky Andrachick, age 89, of Bentleyville, died in her residence on Thursday, July 5, 2012.

She was born in Bentleyville on May 5, 1923 and was a daughter of the late Anthony F. and Josephine Piekutowski Evanosky.

On July 13, 1946 in St. Luke Church of Bentleyville, she married William A. Andrachick, who survives.

She was an active member of the Ave Maria Parish, where she was one of the original “pierogie ladies”.

She was a graduate of Bentleyville High School and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Dolores, Bentleyville.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Mary Jo Harris (Robert T.) of California, Joanne M. Tonin (Frank) of Greensburg and Valerie Silva of Edinboro. Also survived by grandchildren Monica Van Court (Ron), Frank W. Tonin (Linda), Jason M. Tonin and Elizabeth Sinchak; four great-grandchildren, Robbie and Jessica Van Court and Abigail and Quinn Tonin.

A daughter, Karen A. Sinchak, died on March 5, 2010. She was the last of her immediate family.

Friends are welcome on Sunday, July 8 from noon to 3:00 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 9 followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville, with the Rev. Edward Yuhas, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. The Ave Maria Parish Women’s Guild will pray the Rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to the Pierogie Ladies of Ava Maria Parish, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314.
