Stella Gacy

Stella Vivashik Gacy, 87, of Bentleyville, died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born March 19, 1922 in Donora, a daughter of John Vivashik and Julia Smistay Vivashik.

A longtime resident of Bentleyville, Mrs. Gacy was formerly of Van Voorhis.

She was a member of Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville.

For 25 years (1983 to 2008), the love of her life was bowling with the Tan-O-Bell Seniors Bowling League in Bentleyville.

A strong and loving woman, she maintained her independence all her life by bowling, driving and taking care of herself until the very end. There was nothing she would not do to help another human being. She will be missed.

On June 23, 1945 in Monongahela, she married Mike Gacy, who died January 6, 1984. A veteran, he served during World War II with the U.S. Army and received the Purple Heart.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Kathleen M. Gacy of St. Augustine, Flor.; a sister, Ann Dimartini of Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is sister, Annett Kokoska.

Friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 19 at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2009 followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville with Rev.
