Victor W. Moyer, 84, of Beallsville, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born June 27, 1925 in Bentleyville, a son of Ralph and Dominica "Minnie" Scardamaglia Moyer.
A veteran, he served as a corporal with U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany.
Mr. Moyer once owned and operated, Vic Moyer Lincoln-Mercury in Charleroi.
He had a love for horses and was the former owner of Sunny Acres Stables in Coal Center, where he trained and showed horses. He was a former licensed harness driver, trainer and owner at The Meadows in Washington.
At the time of his death, he enjoyed buying, trading, selling horses and farm equipment and since 1999, was a bus driver for Matthews Bus Company.
Mr. Moyer enjoyed working with children, talking with people and gardening.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 22, Charleroi and a life member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Mae Feevey Moyer, whom he married on May 19, 1956 in Monessen.
Also surviving are three sisters, Angeline Sofsky of New Eagle, Prenda Moyer of Washington and Helen Hohn (Robert) of Cochranton and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are brothers, Anthony, Jim, Angelo, Albert and Orlando and sister, Rose Moyer.
Friends are welcome from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 5, with Rev. Gary W. Krummert of Ave Maria Parish, officiating. Interment in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
