William Glenn Dean

William Glenn Dean, 91, of Ellsworth, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in a loving family home.

Glenn, as he was known by his family, was born November 13, 1921 in Curtain, W. Va., to John Howard and Nettie Barker Dean.

He worked at several area coal mines and was a proud member of the U.M.W. of A. Local 1197 for 70 years.

Glenn was an avid hunter and was a good man who unselfishly gave to so many and will be missed deeply by his family and friends.

On September 23, 1939 in Bentleyville, he married Helen V. Hamay Dean, his devoted wife of 66 years, who died on September 21, 2006.

Surviving are a son, William A. Dean of Fairfield Calf.; three grandsons, Randy, Carl, and Ricky Dean; five great-granddaughters; two brothers, John Herbert Dean and Earl Dean and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, Howard Lee Dean, Sr.

Friends are welcome from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11 with Glenn's brother, Earl Dean, officiating.
