Our charge includes services of funeral director and staff to provide 24-hour availability; necessary arrangements with responsible party; recording vital statistics; securing permits, filing and obtaining death certificates and other forms; preparation of obituary; sheltering of remains; coordination of service plans with parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and forwarding or receiving remains.)

Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement, such as direct cremation or immediate burial, that does not require you to pay for it.

*Rules and Regulations of the Pennsylvania State Board of Funeral Directors, Section 13.201, 6-i states:  

Human remains held 24 hours beyond death shall be embalmed or sealed in a container that will not allow fumes or odors to escape or kept under refrigeration, if this does not conflict with a religious belief or medical examination.

This charge includes basic services of staff, local use of casket coach (hearse) to church and/or cemetery or crematory (excluding visitation and funeral ceremony.)

Our charge for an immediate burial (excluding ceremony and visitation) includes local removal, care of remains, basic services of staff, and casket coach to local area cemetery.

Our charge for a direct cremation includes transfer of remains to funeral home, basic services of funeral director & staff (excluding ceremony and visitation), care of remains, transportation to crematory, crematory fee and coroner’s authorization.    

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The alternative containers we provide are flexible vinyl. NOTE: An alternative container may be required by the crematory.
